District 111 will be hosting its first district-wide Trivia Night on Tuesday, November 12 at 6:00 pm at Burbank School. The friendly competition is open to teams of 6-8, consisting of family members, staff, and students. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
November 15 marks the official statewide observance of School Board Members Day in Illinois. Each year, this day is an opportunity to show support for your board of education and the individual school board members who are committed to providing a local voice for your educational decisions.
Burbank School District 111 will have four school board seats to be filled at the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election. Candidates who are elected will fill four-year terms expiring in April 2029. Candidates for the office of school board can begin to circulate nominating petitions beginning August 20. The period for filing candidate filing runs from November 12 through November 18. TalkingPoints is a two-way multilingual family engagement platform helping teachers and school leadership stay connected with families via text message. Next week, you will receive a message from your child’s school regarding TalkingPoints.
District 111 provides development screenings for children ages 3 and 4 living within the boundaries of Burbank, Illinois. Developmental screenings typically assess a child's skill in areas such as language, motor development, self-help and emotional development. If a child is identified as a risk, further evaluation and support may be recommended. The next preschool screening will be held at McCord Early Learning Center on February 19, 2025.
