Registration for returning PASS families will open online - end of May. Registration for new PASS families will open online - end of July.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announced the over 500 Illinoisans honored for their extraordinary contributions to education across the state through its annual Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year Awards. The awardees announced today include Burbank School District’s Sarah Nesci, Teacher at Kennedy School!

The 2025-2026 Official School Calendar was approved at the January 22 Board of Education Meeting. The first day for students is Wednesday, August 13.

New and Returning Student Registration opens March 1. Parents and guardians of current students will receive an email with a direct snap-code link to register their student. Current 5th grade students moving on to Liberty next year should be registered as Returning Students. Please also note: snapcode letters indicate your child's current school.

Will your child be five by September 1, 2025? Kindergarten registration for the upcoming school year opens March 1.

Our Annual Young Authors Contest was held February 19 at Tobin School. A winner from each grade level was selected as well as an overall district winner. A link to each grade level winning submission can be found here. Congrats to all our talented young authors!

Since 1982, the United States Supreme Court decision in Plyler v. Doe affirmed that schools must provide free public education to all students regardless of their immigration status and regardless of the citizenship status of the students’ parents or guardians. We will continue to abide by this decision because it represents our values as a district.

Burbank School District 111 engages in ongoing efforts to ensure high levels of security and privacy in the use of online data. We are writing to inform you that there was a security incident affecting PowerSchool, which took place in late December 2024.

We are excited to announce a major update regarding the food services for our district. As of November, Arbor Management Inc. joined the Whitsons Culinary Group Family of Companies! This transition brings many exciting changes, including a new menu with delicious options and a revamped marketing program that will be rolled out over the next few months.

We are excited to announce that District 111 will be using TalkingPoints to communicate with parents and guardians.  TalkingPoints is a two-way multilingual family engagement platform helping teachers and school leadership stay connected with families via text message.  Next week, you will receive a message from your child’s school regarding TalkingPoints.
